This magazine is a good example of a college magazine. This is because it has all the conventions of a normal magazine, for example: Bar code  main image, title, masthead, pull quotes. The colours used stand out again the image is of blacks and whites which are quite plain so it easy to get a colour to stand out nicely, pulling the reader in to read this magazine.
The model is holding law society books which obviously show off the subjects that the student is taking, but also some of the courses that are available to people who apply. This is good as it shows people who do not attend the college, what courses are available.
The main topic is in bold letters, and the text is slightly larger than the rest, so this is clear to anyone that this is the main story of the magazine. Some of the quotes are the same colour as the Title of the magazine, this means that these articles could infact be the major ones of the magazine, and this is why it is presented this way.
Overall this example is effective and good. The small print on his jacket is hard to read so this could be changed, but apart from that, the rest is really good.
